GET READY! Join Nicole ever Friday’s for the month of June for Afro-house and Soca dance classes at Free Spirit Dance! This class with focus on the synergy of the movements in African and house dance. You will Learn foundation steps in each style and release the body through integrative movement and isolations. A bit about Nicole:
Nicole is the director of dance collective L’ouvert Playhouse. She continues to train in contemporary, hip hop, house, Africa and Caribbean movement. Her master teachers include Brian Webb, Heidi Bunting, Michele Moss, Melissa Monteros, Wojtek Mochniej, M’bembe Bangoura, Patrick Parsons, Newton Moraes, Consuelo Herrera, Tara Wilson, Caleaf Sellars, Poppin Pete, Makeda Thomas, Rennie Harris and Chris Walker. She received a diploma from Grant McEwan University and BA in fine Arts from the University of Calgary specializing in dance, performance and choreography. Nicole Professionally danced for Ballet Creole, Canboulay Dance Theatre, BravoFact videos directed by Seth Adrian Harris, in Toronto and presented solo work at W.I.P. showcase ins Saskatoon, SK. In Calgary, she has danced in pieces choreographed by Kristy Anthony, Whitney Cousins, Melanie Kloetzel and Jennifer Hammond. Nicole presented her own work in Dance at Moon/Night and Dance Montage, Mpact – Something to Say, Invisible and The Cypher, Strange Change Dance Exchange, ONE 2013, head choreographer Sci-Fi Film Agophobia directed by Benjamin Hayden and The Calgary workshop production of The Adventures of a Black Girl in Search of God. Nicole teaches artist residencies with Sound Kreations.
