ROLLER SKATING 101 (ABSOLUTE BEGINNER): 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. This class is an introduction for absolute beginners. Learn the basics of roller skating on traditional quad roller skates. How to stand up, balance, step, roll, turn and stop. You will also learn the basics of roller dance. Protective equipment (knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards and a helmet) is strongly recommended. SOLD OUT! – RHYTHM ROLLER SKATING: 2: 15 p.m. – 3:15 p.m. This 4 week session will introduce you to the exciting world of dancing on roller skates. You will learn the building blocks of all roller skate dance moves; stepping, rolling and turning. In these sessions we will go through basic dance moves as well as more advanced combinations. The key goal will be to train the basic moves intensively, so that both new as well as experienced skaters will benefit so that they can evolve their own personal dance style.
Skaters should be comfortable balancing on roller skates. For absolute beginners, Roller Skating 101 is a prerequisite.

Esther is one of the founding members of the group the Rolling Amazons, she has performed at street theatre festivals in the Netherlands and Belgium. She has participated in the New York Parade with Sisters in Motion and has been attending the Barcelona Skate Love festival since the beginning. She owns the specialist rhythm skate shop Ginger Skates in Amsterdam with her partner Marcel van Stralendorff.
